The lower side fairings are also made of 100% full carbon fiber materials for extra lightness; while the air ram intake covers are made of carbon fiber with fiberglass backing for extra support. However, both lower side fairings and air ram intake covers are finished with a glossy layer of clear coating and come with pre-drilled holes for easier installation. The lower side fairings is also protected by the aluminum insert and available for sale at $199.95 plus shilling and tax if applied. The air ram intake covers is priced at $359.95. BMW Carbon Fiber Front Tank Cover S1000RR (09-10) - Plain Weaves

While TEKARBON has been carrying parts for BMW S1000RR in 2x2 twill pattern, to accomonate those aftermarket carbon fiber parts being sold at the BMW dealers, TEKARBON did an exception in having certain parts made in 1x1 plain weaves - by public demand. This front tank cover happens to be one of them! The tank cover is special not only because of its additional version of 1x1 plain weaves, but it is manufactured with autoclave technology for better quality and better fitment. It also leads to extra lightness but retaining the proper flexibility and hardness for installation.

BMW Carbon Fiber Front Fairing (2 pieces)S1000RR (09-10) - Twill Weaves

The 2009 -2010 BMW S1000RR carbon fiber front fairing - 2 pieces - is now available in 2x2 twill patter, compared to the 1x1 plain pattern that used to be the only option. The production of the 2x2 twill patterend front fairing will not discontinue the availability of the 1x1 plain pattern. Customers can still choose from the plain or twill weaves on this particular 2 pieces front fairing.

Ducati Carbon Fiber Front Fairing Multistrada 1200 (10-11)

This is a new product added to the latest product line of Ducati Multistrada. The front fairing fits 2010-2011 Ducati Multistrada 1200 model. Although the part itself looks gigantic, due to the autoclave technology taken place in the production process, its actual weight is lighter than expected. Made with the highest 3k carbon fiber materials, the front fairing is finished in 1x1 plain weaves pattern and coated with a thick layer of glossy clear coat for extra protection.

Ducati Carbon Fiber Front Fender Multistrada 1200 (10-11)

The rear guard is finished in an 1x1 plain weaves that matches the rest of the parts in the product lines.

BMW K1300R and Buell X1 riders: More Carbon Fiber Options Are Available Now

After announcing the entry to Suzuki B-King 1300, Tekarbon now is reaching out to the BMW K1200R and Buell X1 riders. Tekarbon is now one of the limited online stores offering one-stop service for carbon fiber motorcycle parts, from small parts like heel plates and heat shield to massive body parts like side fairings. 

The BMW line originally includes BMW K1300R, S1000RR and R1200S. Starting in June, Tekarbon has already expanded its catalog with the new product line – BMW K1200R. There are over 30 carbon fiber motorcycle parts for BMW riders, including regular street version and racing version which doesn’t come with pre-cut holes. While all the BMW carbon fiber parts are 2nd generation that means the back mountings and fitment are much nicer, the BMW K1200R even amazes you even further. The parts all feature autoclave production process. 

Autoclave production process is a method of Moist Heat Sterilization, utilizing moisture from hot air lading with water vapour.  This technology is widely used to sterilize products that can withstand high temperatures while not getting burnt. With the correct temperature, amount of pressure and length of time, autoclave finished products are much better in quality and fitment.   

As far as the Buell goes, Tekarbon just expanded their Lightning carbon fiber products from XB to X1 series. There are some hot items such as belly pan, front fender, rear hugger and tank cover at this point, “more products such as heel plates, chain guard will be added based on the customers’ reaction .” quoted from the spokesperson from Tekarbon. Can a Honda CBR 1000RR beat BMW S1000RR?

We came across to this interesting article comparing a Honda CBR1000RR to a BMW S1000RR. With a similar model name, which one has a better performance?

Some may say BMW S1000RR is unbeatable; yet there is claim saying the 2008 Honda CBR 1000RR can be, close to, perfect with custom mod.

Honda CBR 1000RR was first introduced to the market in 2007. With its light curb weight, excellent chassis and motor with monster midrange, many bikers could not wait to get one and their inventory was cleared in no time.

While BMW S1000RR is proud of its top-end acceleration, being more powerful than even Kawasaki Ninja ZX14, their finished package of an ideal streetbike -  package with traction control, quickshifter and ABS – is over affordable. Thus, Superbike decided to work on a project on modifying a Honda CBR 1000RR to out beat BMW S1000. The bottom line the mod budget is below $10,000.

The mod is based on a pre-owned 2008 Honda CBR 1000RR with less than 9500 miles on the road, sold at $6,500; that being said only $3,500 left for the mod. With the remaining dollars, Sportrider was able to tune the stock CBR 1000RR to weigh less yet make significant power.

Preview of 2012 BMW M6 before it arrives!

After the preview of Volkswagen Golf R , we got another spy on the upcoming 2012 BWM M6 – thanks to our friends BMWBlog. According to TeamSpeed, the new M6, available in 2012, will be available in both Coupe and Convertible variants. To distinguish itself from other high-end auto, such as Porsche, Audi, Benlty, Aston Martin and Mercedes-Benz, the new M6, needless to say will come with its own unique attributes and characteristics. The 2012 M6 will come with the typical wider rear fenders just as what the current model is offering. The usual four-tailpipe exhaust and the M-style bumper with diffuser will only available for the M models. On top of that, the M6 will also benefit from the big brakes behind the larger wheels and M-signature quad-exhaust pipes out back. As much as the information is disclosed, the new M6 should be upgraded to 4.4 liter V8 engine, producing close to 600 horsepower. You should expect no more than 4 seconds from 0 to 60. Unofficial source says 2012 BMW M6 will launch at the Geneva Motor Show next year. Nothing is confirmed yet. Source: BMWBlog
